Overview
Teachers play an instrumental role in the successful implementation of STEM programs. It is important to have well-trained teachers to deliver a top-class STEM curriculum in class. Teachers in this course will explore and analyze current issues in STEM education, investigate how student performance data informs school and district program decision-making, learn how to lead and empower teachers in the mapping of STEM curriculum across grade levels, and develop strategies to develop effective district-wide STEM professional development for teachers.

Objectives
- Clearly articulate and describe various attributes of STEM education and use current issues and own experiences as a STEM teacher to support the teacher position.
- Use a variety of resources to identify and describe current issues guiding STEM education.
- Use data to identify STEM areas of need in school and plan to address these needs using a collaborative inquiry approach.
- Develop a long-term STEM professional development plan for the school.
